About Us
The Lakes & Craters Band Camperdown Inc. (Lakes & Craters) are a community concert band comprised of people of various ages and abilities. We are based out of Camperdown, and we rehearse on Friday nights at 7:30pm, occasionally with a training band beforehand that focuses on music theory and preparation for the main band.
Formerly known as the Camperdown Fire Brigade Band Inc., the band has been active within the community since 1938, first beginning as a brass band before expanding to accommodate a wider range of instruments that are more commonly taught in schools. In the past, the band has competed at National and State championships in D grade, with wins at both levels. Now, we focus more on fostering music within the community and participating in various community events, as can be seen in the ‘Events’ tab!
We are always looking for more members and players, and welcome anyone who has any interest in music, whether you put down an instrument 40 years ago and want to pick it back up, or you’ve always wanted to learn an instrument, or even if you simply want to join a new band for a bit of fun!

If you are interested in joining the band but do not currently have an instrument, we have instruments available for hire at a low cost.
Please note that instrument hire is only available to individuals who are active members of the band.
